A bathhouse with a social side.
Sodome has two distinct moods: the bar and jacuzzi bring people together, while darker rooms and passages offer a more discreet cruising atmosphere. Guests describe talking, looking around and moving between the different spaces, rather than spending the whole visit in the sauna.
From the door to the bar
The entrance on Mariano Escobedo is discreet: ring the bell to be let in. After the security check and payment, you leave your phone at reception, receive a locker key and change into the supplied pareo and sandals. The visit then opens up: a drink, the jacuzzi, the steam room or a look around the other floors.
For a first visit, the bar is a useful place to start. A February guest described the main floor as unusually sociable for a bathhouse, with people talking around the jacuzzi. It gives you somewhere to settle in and get a feel for the room before deciding where to go next.
Conversation, cruising and a change of pace
This is a place for consensual adult sexual encounters as well as conversation and relaxation. Guests describe the darker rooms and passages as the main cruising spaces; private rooms provide another option. You can move between the social and more intimate areas without making the whole visit about one thing.
Drag shows also feature in visitors’ accounts, adding another layer to the bar atmosphere. The sauna itself gets a less consistent response: some guests praise the cleaning and facilities, while others describe lukewarm steam. The social setting is a clearer draw than any promise of a complete spa experience.
Who will enjoy it
The venue describes itself as a bathhouse for men who have sex with men. Reviews include solo visitors and couples on holiday, so there is more than one way to arrive. A September visitor enjoyed meeting men of different builds; others felt the atmosphere was cliquey or judgmental. Come for a sexually open social setting, with space to explore on your own or share the visit with a partner.
Spanish can help with the social side. One international guest found the language a barrier; another managed without being fluent. If you are new to the city, a few phrases and a willingness to start a conversation will serve you better than assuming everyone speaks English.
Choose the night
Start with Friday or Saturday if you want a social evening. A repeat visitor who tried both, plus Monday, preferred the two weekend nights. A couple who went on Thursday and Friday found both busy, especially Friday. For a later visit, one February guest singled out the weekend crowd after 11pm.
Monday can still have life: a March visitor found it surprisingly busy. It closes at midnight, so plan an earlier evening. Wednesday and Thursday have a lower general cover, and weekend mornings have a separate admission window. Those are useful choices for your budget and schedule; the clearest late-night recommendations remain Friday and Saturday.
An evening visit or a night upstairs
Hourly private rooms and overnight suites serve different plans. A private room gives you a separate space during a visit; a suite gives up to two guests a place to stay, with bathhouse access included. A September couple praised their comfortable, clean room. If you want to stay together and take breaks from the shared areas, the suite is worth comparing with general admission.
